Reflowable Layout

This format is suitable for eBooks that consist mainly of text and have a simple design. The content automatically adapts to the display size and the reader's settings. Images and other elements such as tables or boxes can also be included.

Fixed Layout

This layout type is suitable for titles with a multi-column layout, many images, or an elaborately designed layout. eBooks in Fixed Layout do not adapt to the display size or the reader's settings. Choose this format if the structure of your ePUB file resembles that of your print book.

To publish your eBook as Fixed Layout, you need:

your content as an ePUB 3 file in Fixed Layout
an additional PDF file
three preview images that give a brief insight into the content of your eBook

The following formats are possible for the preview images:

768 × 1024 px
768 × 1004 px
2048 × 1536 px
2048 × 1496 px
1536 × 2048 px
1536 × 2008 px
